For joining the Auxiliary:

Post members may encourage the following persons to join: husbands, brothers, sons, fathers, wife, mothers, foster and stepmothers/fathers, grandmothers/fathers, daughters, and granddaughters. Also foster and stepdaughters/sons (who attained the status prior to age sixteen), sisters/brothers, half sisters/brothers, fosters and stepsisters/brothers. Members must be citizens of the United States and at least 16 years of age.

Auxiliary VFW Members are:

  • Members must be citizens of the United States and at least 16 years old.
  • A man/woman who is eligible is a:
    • Wife/Husband
    • Widow/Widower
    • Mother/Father
    • Foster and Stepmothers/fathers (who have performed the duties of a parent)
    • Grandmothers/Fathers
    • Daughters/Sons
    • Granddaughters/Sons
    • Foster and Stepdaughters/Sons (who attained that status prior to the age of sixteen and for whom the duties of parent were performed)
    • Sisters/Brothers, Half-sisters/brothers, foster and Stepsisters/brothers (who attained that status prior to the age of sixteen)

Of persons who were or are eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.

Those eligible for membership in the VFW are those that have received a campaign medal for overseas service; have served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days in Korea; or have ever received hostile fire or imminent danger pay. Click here for more information.

Proof of service is required for eligibility and must be obtained by the applicant.
